The studio sits in the heart of Dubai, with access to everything around it. It’s a modern building, and then again, everything in my area is about 15 years old or younger.
Like most buildings in Dubai, it has a small army of workers, including security and maintenance. I always try to make a point to greet them, but as we all do at one point or another,
I sometimes walk by them blindly. It's not for lack of recognizing them; maybe it's just me being absorbed. I honestly think, as bad as it may sound, that they become a part of the structure.
Having realized how awful that sounds, I have decided to invite some of them to the studio, ask them their names, and hear something about their lives, and yes, take a picture of them, something they can send back to their loved ones.
